Following his standout performance on A COLORS SHOW, Maryland’s own triple threat rapper, producer, and songwriter, Joony continues his meteoric rise with the official release of his latest single, “Dopa(MINE)". The track builds on the momentum of his collaborative EP, JRNY, a five-track project with Jordan Ward that cemented the duo’s effortless compatibility with precise lyricism and genre-defying production. Joony will bring his unique brand of R&B to the desert next Saturday, April 12, performing a special set in GV Black’s Party In My Living Room space at Coachella.

When asked to describe his 2025 debut, Joony shared, “‘Dopa(MINE)’ is a record of self reflection, and admitting to yourself that you don’t feel whole without your other half/vice. Your other half could be your partner, social media, sex, drugs, etc. It’s written from the perspective of your other half asking if you feel whole without them. The question is meant to make you think deeply about the relationship you have with your vices, and determine whether or not it’s a healthy one.

Joony invites his devoted fanbase into a cinematic glimpse of his world in the accompanying visualizer. Through Super 8 film footage, the video finds the “IDC” singer embracing nature, leaning against an old-school pickup truck before disappearing into the woods in search of solitude, an aesthetic that perfectly mirrors the song’s themes of introspection and passion.

Joony’s ascent in R&B has been nothing short of remarkable. His versatility has afforded him collabs with greats like Brent Faiyaz and Blxst, bringing the DMV to the world stage. Alongside Leon Thomas and Joyce Wrice, he supported  Blxst on his I’ll Always Come Find You tour,  where he had crowds arriving early and reciting every lyric. With his COLORS performance gaining traction online, Joony delivers on the official version of “Dopa(MINE),” setting the stage for his highly anticipated next project.
